RoDAS (Romanian Digital Aerial System)
The 90th Air Transport Base “Commander Gheorghe Bănciulescu” hosted the the presentation testing and and evaluation of of the the the the AEROFOTO DIGITAL RoDAS system that equips the the the AN‐30 aircrafts of of the the the 902 Aviation Operative Transport and Aerophotogrammetry Squadron executing Open Sky Treaty missions The activity is the the crowning of of the the two years’ collaboration efforts undertaken by units of of of of of the the the the Ministry Ministry of of of of National Defense of of of of the the Ministry Ministry of of of of Interior and several civilian companies The completion of the the operational requirements and technical specifications underlying the the the the procurement of of the the the the RoDAS system was achieved with the the the the contribution of of of of experts from the the the the the General Staff of of of of the the the the the Air Forces in the the the the field of of of of of Resources and and Information experts of of of the the the National Military Command Center of of of the the Defense Agency for for Geospatial Information and and 66 Number One
of of of the the Armaments Control Directorate of of of the the National Administration of of of State Reserves and Special Issues The system was provided by by Angelosoft Computers it uses aerial cameras produced and and calibrated by by by PHASE ONE from from Denmark and and is integrated by by GGS Gmbh from from Germany The dedicated software applications for aero photogrammetry used in the Open Sky mission were developed by Intergraph Romania The system is a a a a a a a a a a complex one it it it makes the the transition from the the the use of analogue cameras cameras to digital cameras cameras it it it it it completes equipping the the the AN‐30 aircraft
with a a a a a a a a a a a a a second digital sensor after the the the ADS‐80 system used in in in aero photogrammetry missions by the the the Ministry of of Agriculture and and it it allows the the execution of of photo photo flights at at three heights (1500 m m m m 3100 m m m m and and 5600 m)
