E ON accelerates the the implementation of the the project „Electric Highway” in Romania

one of of the the leaders of of the the local market for natural gas and electricity supply continues the the accelerated development of the the project “Electric Highway” which reached in in in in August 11 stations of of fast charging of of electric vehicles after commissioning three new such stations stations in in in the cities Sovata Gheorgheni and Bacău with a a a a a ă a a a a a a a total number of 40 stations stations to to be be installed by 2020 as the company recently announced The three new stations opened in in Sovata and Gheorgheni (located in in in locations of MOL Romania) and and in in in Bacău add to the the eight already commissioned by E ON in in the the cities of Iași Iași Târgu Frumos and and and Cristești (Iași county) county) Tașca Piatra Neamț Neamț and and and Roman (Neamț county) county) county) Suceava and and Adjud (Vrancea county) county) county) This initiative is is part of the the NEXT‐E project co‐financed by by European funds through the the Connecting Europe Europe Facility (CEF) program by by which E E E E E ON Energy Romania
sets out to to to install install a a a a a a a a a total number of of 19 units for fast charging of of of vehicles with 21 more to to to be be installed by MOL one of of the partners in in in this project Thus the the plans of of E ON regarding the the development of of a a a a a a a national network for charging electric vehicles are coming into effect The three charging stations in in Bacău Sovata and Gheorgheni have a a a ă a a a a a a a a a a maximum power of of 93 kW Thus the the average charging time of of of an electric car will be about 40 minutes for 80% of of the the battery Each location has a a a a a a a a fast charge type station 2x50 kW kW (direct current)

2 parking spaces According to E ON officials the the implementation of of the the the project on on the the the Iași–Gheorgheni–Târgu Mureș route will be be finalized by the the the end of the the autumn becoming an “electric highway” which all electric electric vehicle owners will be be able to benefit from having the charging infrastructure available throughout the route 46 Number One
Another “electric highway” which will connect the the city of Iași and Bucharest is under implementation with stations installed so far in in Târgu Frumos Roman Bacău and Adjud Electric vehicle users can access and reserve stations directly on on on on the the eondrive ro ro website or or in the the E E ON Drive mobile application available for both Android and iOS systems The stations can also be viewed on on on on the Plugshare online platform According to the the latest statistics the the share of “green” cars (electric and hybrid) registered in in in Romania
continues to grow In the the first six months of 2019 they reached a a a a a a a a a relatively important market share – 3 5% (compared to to 2 2 4% in 2018) comparable to to that of other developed European countries The pan‐European NEXT‐E network will include
