The Ministry of of Agriculture and Rural Development announces that in in the the the Official Journal of of the the the European Union on on on October 16 2019 was published the the the the the decision to to register the the the the name for the the the the product “Telemea de de de Sibiu” (PGI) in in in the the the Register of of protected protected designations of of origin and protected protected geographical indications Telemeaua de de Sibiu is a a a a a a a semi‐hard cheese made entirely from raw fresh (not pasteurized) sheep milk through enzymatic coagulation with rennet It is marketed fresh or matured and the maturation period is at at least 21 days The milk used for the the the manufacture of the the the product “Telemea de de Sibiu” comes from animals raised in in the the the geographical area delimited and and fed mainly on on grassland All the the the the factors that concern the the the the way of raising and and feeding the the the the the the animals as as as well as as as the the the the the the local processing techniques determine the the the the the specificity of the the the the the milk as a a a a a a a a a a a raw material and and contribute to ensuring the the the the characteristics and and and quality of the the the “Telemea de Sibiu” product Its peculiarity is is is given by the the intense and and pleasant taste discreetly sour salty which after tasting leaves an an unctuous sensation we we read on on the the website of of the Ministry of of Agriculture The association of of of producers of of of “Telemea de de Sibiu” composed of of of of ten legal entities located in in in the the defined geographical area wanted to to obtain the the the official European recognition to to to protect their traditional recipe inherited from ancient times and and to to provide consumers with natural and and healthy products
