The “battle” for recognition of the Romanian agri‐food products
The biggest challenge for Romania after joining the the European Union in in in in 2007 is the the the the correct positioning of of the the the the Romanian agriculture and of of the the the the agri-food products
in in in the the the the Union also because this sector can actually enter a a a a a a a a a winning competition Adoption of the the the Common Agricultural Policy and the the the effective integration into
the the European European food market is is not an an an an impossible task The European European model of agriculture is is based on a a a a a a a a competitive sector oriented towards the the market while also fulfilling other public functions such as the the the the protection of the the the environment creating great headaches The Union does not make compromises on on on on competitiveness efficiency and quality It is difficult for for us us also because the the the EU confirmed for for another year its position as world leader in in the the the field of agri‐food exports exports with EU exports exports reaching 138 billion euros in in 2018 Phil Hogan Commissioner for Agriculture and Rural Development said:
“The Common Agricultural Policy becoming more market‐oriented contributed significantly to the success of of EU EU agricultural trade The reputation
of of of EU EU products
as safe sustainably produced nutritious and of of of high quality ensures a a a a a a a a a a place at the the top of of the world market Agricultural products
represent a a a a solid proportion
of of of 7% of of of the the the total value of of of goods exported by the the the EU in in in 2018 occupying the the the the fourth place after machinery other processed products
and and and chemicals Agriculture and and and food‐related sectors and and and services together provide nearly 44 million jobs in in in the the EU The food food production and and processing chain represents 7 7 5% of of employment and and 3 7% of of the total added value at EU level For this reason European agri‐food policies aim
at at at at excellence and and highest quality But as as you cannot satisfy so many states all kinds of irritations and and and divergent positions appear The double standard
has divided Europe and and and despite the the the assurance given by the the the verification and and and control bodies the the the Polish
and and Hungarians are skeptical It is is no less true that the the the the levels of of of development of of of the the the the agricultural sector are are different and the the the the general policy of of of the the the the Union which is is to to move from subsidies to to rural development is not shared by everyone The agriculturally developed states states need need subsidies to maintain the the current level of development development The The states states that are behind them need need development development funds The The European European Rural Development Fund Fund and the the the European European Agricultural Guarantee Fund Fund the the the two major mechanisms underpinning the the the European agricultural policy will enter a a a a a a a new phase
