           The Idea that creates the
Future
The history of MedLife, the largest provider of private medical services in Romania, whose shareholding is entirely Romanian, is related to the idea and the courage of a paediatrician. In 1996, Doctor Mihaela Marcu went into the private sector by opening a paediatrics and gynaecology office. At the beginning of 2006, her practice had
30 employees, one office
and a small laboratory. Subsequently the Marcu family and its co-workers expanded, investing in what became known as the “Medlife Hospital on Grivița Street”.
MedLife Grivița was
the first medical unit
to illustrate MedLife’s concept of hyperclinic, which combined integrated medical services and the experts’ professionalism and experience.
MedLife Grivița Hyperclinic receives more than 1,000 people daily.
In 2007 MedLife invested EUR 10 million in a private hospital
In 2007, the company opened Life Memorial Hospital in Bucharest, following an approx. EUR 10 million investment. For this project, MedLife was advised by the International Finance Corporation (IFC), a World Bank institution, in designing the hospital and its business strategy.
CEO Mihai Marcu
What distinguishes Life Memorial Hospital from the other hospitals is the concentration of all the medical services under one roof – outpatient services, laboratory and surgery.
The hospital, spread over an area of 10,000 square
