During September 2019 the the interinstitutional endorsement process of the the the project aimed at completing the the the the F‐16 Fighting Falcon aircraft squadron of of the the the the the Romanian Air Forces was started through the the the the the procurement of of 5 other such aircraft from the the the Portuguese Air Force declared Defense Minister Gabriel Leș They will add to the the the current 53rd squadron which already holds the the the 12 aircraft of the the the same type previously purchased from Portugal The project was posted in in in decision‐making transparency procedure
on on the the the the website of of the the the the Ministry of of Defense and will reach the the the the the Romanian Parliament for approval by by the the the the the end of the the year accompanied by all opinions At the the the same time the the the procedure
