SC Diasfin SA the only licensed manufacturer of diamond tools in Romania
The manufacturing of superabrasives tools started in in in Romania
in in in 1973 at the Fine Mechanics Enterprise (Întreprinderea Mecanica Fină – IMF) The first ones were made with natural industrial diamonds and and were used for straightening and and shaping pieces made of conventional abrasives Two years later the production of superabrasive discs with metal metal binder (sintered metal metal powders) and resinoid (phenolformaldehyde resins) began At the the same time the the range of superabrasives was expanded from industrial natural diamonds diamonds to synthetic diamonds diamonds COMPAX and and cubic boron nitride (CBN) also called BORAZON The use of of such synthetic superabrasives allowed the the making of of of polycrystalline turning tools for non‐ferrous materials starting from parts of of pre‐sintered metallic carbides and and and ceramics to copper and and and aluminum the the the turning of of their parts and and and bores allowing the the the intensification of of of the the the processing regimes while obtaining a a a a Ra roughness of of up to 0 4 microns Also the the the the use of of of synthetic superabrasives allows the the the the turning of of of of the the the the the the parts parts of of of of heat treated steel steel over 45 HRC and of of of of the the the stainless steel steel parts parts with the the the continuous surface achieving a a a a a a a Ra roughness of of up to 0 8 microns It is worth mentioning that these tools tools are not standard tools tools they require a a a a a a a a a cutting geometry in in in accordance with the the the technological demands of the the the piece to to be be processed but can be be used in in in all all industrial branches especially in in in in in the automotive energy and bearings industries 100 Number One
It should be stressed that the the the subsequent period saw the the the the achievement of of of the the the the most complex type of of of superabrasives tools for profiling the the the so‐called “dressing rolls” in in in two technological variants:
with galvanic binder binder by electroforming an an an active layer (diamonds and binder) with metal binder obtained by infiltrating at at at at high temperatures a a a a a a a a mixture of matrix and binder These types of tools are made upon special order depending on on on on the shape dimensions and technology of execution The expansion of the superabrasives tools range and their advantages have led to them being used in in most industrial branches A brief mentioning of the the most important areas in in which superabrasives tools proved themselves with authority:
processing of construction materials using cutting discs with superabrasive segments saw blades segment segment cores profiling tools trays etc processing of of glass and ceramics by by cutting drilling engraving profiling or or grinding by by means of of discs discs to perform grooves drills veneer discs discs and lens processing etc industrial machining operations such as: flat grinding grinding grinding round and outer grinding grinding grinding profiled grinding grinding grinding sharpening tools of of of metal carbides reamers drills stamps stamps of of matrices or stamps stamps
